First head to VirusTotal
There's two method of scanning, either uploading a file or trans-load it through their server. Remember when using uploading method, bigger files might take longer depending on your upload speed, meanwhile submitting a file to the server is faster thus I'll be covering that instead.
Now get a link of a file you intend to scan, paste in the url box and hit the submit button.
It may take a second or depending the size of the file once it's done it will automatically redirect you to the another page reporting if the file is dangerous or not.
As you can see 16% probability it's dangerous, to see which antivirus flag it as dangerous go to the link (View downloaded file analysis)
As you can see, there's a number of antivirus detected it as dangerous so :)
Note:
For this test, i use a XP crack so definitely it's a false positive.
